TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By using the SIGHTER app and capturing visual UAP data, you retain the right to use and monetize such photo or video images as you choose. Aside from rights granted to SIGHTER under these Terms and Conditions you as the copyright owner have full discretion over the usage regarding, planned or unplanned monetization of the images you capture using SIGHTER.

SIGHTER does not store sighting images or metadata on your local device once sighting data is uploaded to SIGHTER servers. Once sighting data is uploaded, reviewed and processed, you may make a request to SIGHTER to release the image data to you through a written request sent to support@sighter.io.

Under our Terms and Conditions of use, you grant SIGHTER non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free rights to use the data captured by you, whether visual or otherwise, through the SIGHTER app. These rights encompass reproduction, distribution, display, and utilization of visual images and video and sighting metadata for research, education, and advancing the goals and mission of SIGHTER, including the promotion and wider distribution of the SIGHTER app.

SIGHTER will not directly monetize the visual or other data captured by you through social media or any other means.

USER ANONYMITY

SIGHTER strictly maintains anonymity for its users. Therefore, when reproducing, distributing, displaying, or utilizing the SIGHTER data captured by you, SIGHTER will not attribute the video or photographic images or associated metadata to you as the SIGHTER user through any identifying information you may provide to SIGHTER, including current or future location information, email address, or other identifying information associated with your account. This does not include identifying information that may unavoidably be revealed as a result of recording UAP images, such as notable close-by landmarks, signage or visual environmental features captured in recorded images that may suggest or narrowly or broadly fix your location and possible identity at the time of recording.

You agree to indemnify and hold SIGHTER harmless from any claims or liabilities arising from the use of the visual and other data captured using the SIGHTER app.

The granted usage rights described here remain in effect unless otherwise specified. SIGHTER reserves the right to modify this policy at its discretion, with prior notification of any changes.

SPOOFING OF FAKING SIGHTING DATA

Deliberately creating, making public, and with or without subsequently monetizing photo or video data, that has been faked, obviously spoofed, or created artificially and knowingly intended to create false positive UAP sightings while attributing such data to SIGHTER or the SIGHTER app as the data collection and imaging tool used, is strictly prohibited. SIGHTER upholds the highest standards of integrity and accuracy in the collection and distribution of UAP data.

In the event of any such fakery with or without the intent to monetize such images or video data, SIGHTER reserves the right to pursue all available means to seek recourse for any damages incurred as a result of such actions. This may include but is not limited to pursuing civil litigation, seeking compensation for reputational harm, or any other legal remedies available under applicable laws.

SIGHTER users who deliberately create and upload false positive “sightings” will be prohibited from engaging in future sightings or uploading sighting data to SIGHTER servers.

SIGHTER may utilize methods, processes or analytical tools such as SIGHTER user polling and cross referencing of metadata from multiple sighting participants or other strategies to detect both inadvertent and deliberately created false positive sightings.

SIGHTER is committed to maintaining the authenticity and credibility of the visual data captured through its app. Any attempts to manipulate, falsify, artificially create or misrepresent visual data not only undermine the integrity of UAP sightings but also hinder genuine research, investigation, and the mission of SIGHTER.

SIGHTER reserves the right to change or modify the terms and conditions of app use at any time, with prior notice to users. By continuing to use the app after receiving the notice, you acknowledge and agree to abide by the updated terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to regularly review the terms and conditions to stay informed of any changes. Failure to comply with the revised terms and conditions may result in the termination of your access to the app.

Please note that SIGHTER will provide notice of any changes to the terms and conditions through means deemed appropriate, which may include but are not limited to, email notifications, in-app notifications, or postings on the app’s website. It is advisable to keep your contact information up to date to ensure you receive timely notifications regarding any updates to the terms and conditions.

If you do not agree with the modified terms and conditions, you have the right to discontinue using the app. Your continued use of the app following the notification of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms and conditions.
